"Everything I do, I do because I challenge conventions. Everything I do I do because I want to find a better way to live."

Why do I do what I do? Why do we get up in the morning? How do we do it?

Everything I do, I do because I challenge conventions and don't accept anything much at surface value. Everything I do, I do because I am not satisfied with "how things are". Having studied ancient civilizations have left me convinced that we are not functioning optimally. That's why I became a coach. I love working with my mind, tweaking how I think and see the world, influencing my reality with my thoughts.

If you are someone who wants a little more out of life, is not satisfied just going through life with business as usual, if you are someone who asks questions about who you are, why you are here and what you are here to do, boy, do I have something for you.

Nick is now an accredited member of the International Coaching Federation and has earned his ACC. He is working toward his PCC with CoachU.

So what is this thing I hear called coaching?

We often hear this question as coaches and explaining is better done by showing.

Coaching has been around for about two decades or more as an institutionalized profession. It came when the lines between mentoring, advising, counseling, consulting, therapy blurred and it was felt something needed to be done in order to etch out this new profession. Thus coaching as we know it now was born.

There was a need to clarify and define what coaching is. Clearly, it is NOT therapy, although we might skim the surface yet never dwell on traumas. Coaching is a forward action oriented technique that takes into consideration the past, acknowledges it and asks: "Knowing this, where do you want to go forward?" As with anything new, hype eventually catches up and coaching has been caught in a whirlwind furthering the need to define it and create an internationally recognized professional standard. Thus came about the International Coaching Federation, amongst a few other groups. Coaching today still suffers loose associations with other professions, but it is is in and of itself a profession and method of its own.

Coaching is based on well proven and tried methods that bring people to greater awareness that allows for efficient decision making process. With greater awareness, we better understand who we are, where we are and how we react to any given circumstances. This gives us a broader sense of where we stand in life, what we wish to do and set firm and achievable life and business goals. Coaching strives to bring clients to a safe place where we can talk in complete confidentiality. Finally, coaching is about empowerment, recognition of success, but mostly accountability. Coaching gets to the Who we are, not the why. It looks to the future.

So how did I get here? I came into coaching not knowing what to expect and soon realized I had been doing some aspects of it as a consultant in my previous business life. As a consultant, I had to not only understand what my clients wanted but make sure they understood what they wanted and make sure their methods were aligned with their goals. What coaching has done for me was to help set forward my life long goals, that of working with people to tap their inner source, reach their deepest aspirations and custom tailor their personal method on how to get there. As a business owner, coaching has been especially useful. It helped me realize the importance of finding a professionally trained and accredited coach to work with in order to plot my practice and study. It helped me evaluate my desires, wishes and translate into achievable goals. As much as coaching has transformed my life, I know it will change yours.

Having said all this, I came into coaching not knowing it was a legitimate profession, and soon realized I had been practicing some aspect of it as a consultant. Coaching helped me set forward my life goals, working with people to tap their source and reach their deepest aspirations. I wanted to be there to help people better understand who they are and how they want to go forward achieving their success, as my coaches have done for me. As a business owner, coaching has been especially useful. I soon realized the importance of finding a professionally trained and accredited coach. I set out to do the same. As much as coaching has transformed my life, I know it will change yours.

Thus Tap The Source!

The popularity of coaching is probably due to the fact people have very little time to think things through and reflect. I created Tap The Source because it symbolizes how must each delve deep within, get to our core and have as much awareness as who we are and our relationship with the Universe. Coaching popularity is probably due to the fact people have little time to think things through and reflect. In a society bombarded with images that do not reflect reality, it is easy to lose oneself in what we are being told to accept as normal. And what is normal after all? Active life leaves little time to reflect and meditate on who you are and where you would like to go. A coach will ask you questions to create greater awareness. But beware how you choose your coach. The popularity has taken the world by storm so that everyone has a coach. If Tiger Woods has one, he does not need a golf coach just someone to help him gauge where he is. We all need someone to ask the right thought-provoking question in order to have these Ah ha moments. There is nothing worse than a life led without reflection and purpose. Know Thyself, indeed.

How Does It Work? A coach works with you by setting a safe place where you can talk in all confidentiality. There is a 100% confidentiality close. After this, we get to the core and find out what your aspirations are, how you function and how to get you there. Coaching relationships can last from three months to years, depending on how motivated you are.

How To Choose You Coach. Choosing your coach is very personal and you should choose wisely. Don't get caught up with outrageous claims. Ultimately, you are the ones who will need to do the work, therefore you need to find someone you can trust and have confidence in. If you can, choose a certified coach. Being certified not only means having been trained with proven methods and has been internationally recognized as being a professional. Choose a coach that has a coach. It might seem funny for a client but a coach needs to have a coach. Having a coach helps you move faster through life.

When To Look With A Coach. People usually look for a coach when they are at a crossroad or feel lost or confused. Others look for a coach to reach higher levels of success. Mostly, a coach is a neutral third party who offers a safe environment for you to think things through and rediscover yourself in order to make better decisions. Once you are clearer as to who and where you are, navigating through life becomes easier.

What To Do With A Coach. You can do many things with a coach, mostly a good coach will help you get to where you want to be. You can also brainstorm, devise strategies, find what motivates you and the best part about it, a coach will hold you up to it.

I am a professionally trained Coach from CoachU, working closely with my mentor coaches. I am also an ACC accredited member of the International Coaching Federation, ICF.

What Do I Specialize In? I specialize with dynamic people and small companies, as well as entrepreneurs and individuals who want more from their lives and are motivated to push the limit of their success. Mostly, the best ways to get to know me is to know me.

What People Say About Me

"I think you have an incredible ability to create a safe environment for people to open up. This allows people to share their thoughts, concerns and ideas without judgment. You build trust and a sense of safety ... making it easy for people to disclose information and therefore you help others help themselves." Lanna

"When I started being coached with Nick in November 2007, I was miserable working the night shift at my job. The first thing Nick encouraged me to do was to write my dream list of what I wanted a year from now. Top of it was to have fun at my job, and now, almost a year later, I am working the day shift, I’m well-rested and able to enjoy my job. I increased the amount of money per hour I’m making. Nick helped me reach my goal of enjoying my job, and even more than that, he’s helping me position myself to move into my dream job.
Next, Nick helped me make steps toward another goal – marriage. When Nick first started coaching me I was in a great relationship with a great guy, but I wanted to start discussing marriage. Nick encouraged me to voice my dream to my boyfriend. It was great advice because it prompted us to start the journey to engagement, and just last weekend we completed our engaged encounter retreat sponsored by our church. We plan to announce our engagement in the next month.
That’s only two of the many goals that Nick has helped me reach this year. I really appreciate the non-judgmental way that Nick listens to my dreams. I feel like he really hears my wants and needs, and then he asks the right questions so that I’m actively developing my plan to reaching my goals." Donna

"I have had the great fortune of being coached regularly by Nick Zart over the last 10 months. Our coaching sessions have been set up as needed during that time frame and Nick Zart comes highly recommended as a business coach.
As soon as I began working with Nick, it did not take long to recognize his passion, compassion, knowledge and insights. He is a very intentional and skilled coach, the combination of which makes him an incredible asset to anyone who works with him.
One thing I value in Nick is his continual development as a coach. He is constantly engaged in furthering his coaching skills and being a client of his, I truly benefit from this since he is capable of moving me forward towards places that I used to find beyond my reach. Thank you for being such and outstanding coach who truly masters the skill sets of meeting the whole me through out the coaching process." Jeff

Hi Nick,

I just loved looking around in your blog. Your comments, on subjects vast and interesting, were great and if a person doesn’t get to know the “real” you from poking around in there, they’re missing the meaning of your perceptiveness. Keep it up. Love, Indra
