Am
I
doing what I need to do? Why
do
I do what I do? What
gets me
motivated and up in the morning? How do I do it all and strike a
happy balance
between my professional and personal life? Where do I find my answers? It’s simple... you and only you have your best and unique
answers. The trick is to get to them with the help of a
professional. There have been a lot said about working with a Coach, some of it not necessarily true. There are Coaches, and then there are coaches. A professionally trained and Certified Coach is trained to ask you questions designed to raise greater awareness as to who you are. With greater awareness, it becomes easier to make the right choices, as you fully understand who you are deep down and what you are here to do. I decided to become a coach after a few sessions with a professional left me thinking this is what I had tried to do in my previous ventures. As a consultant, my aim was to fully understand the needs of my clients and help them achieve them the best possible way. Professional Coaches do that with well proven methods that measure progression along the way. This then led me to studies with Coach University to get an Advanced Coaching Certificate, followed by a hard earned International Coaching Federation, ICF Associate Coaching Certification accreditation. Why a Coach? Certified and professionally trained Coaches are trained to get you to the core of the why through focusing on the who that lies behind your every aspect. A certified Coach will hold your relationship, anything shared (remember, it works both ways) 100% confidential. You can work in two general branches, personal and, or professional, thus Professional Coaching and Life Coaching, the difference being in the focus of what you would like to achieve and work on. If you are someone who wants more out of life, is not satisfied with business as usual, feels help back with a desired to go forward, then we need to talk.
What coaching is and isn't. A real Coach will not tell you what to do. You are the only person who knows what is best for you. The trick is to get that out of you. That is what a certified and professional Coach does. There has been a lot of misunderstanding as to what Coaching is. First of all, Coaching is not consulting, nor is it mentoring, counseling, or therapy. Coaching is designed to raise aware as to who you are and see how you can go forward form that point on. Contrary to Coaching, consulting, therapy and counseling and mentoring offer a concrete expertise that will be given to you. The only “expertise” a real coach will give you are questions, specifically designed to raise your awareness. Also, Coaching is a forward momentum modality, whereas therapy is based on past traumatic issues. We might look at the past but will not linger in it and always with the optic, what do we do with it going forward. So you see, Coaching is a dynamic forward momentum modality and unlike others profession. So why all the misunderstanding? Unfortunately these days, we see the title loosely associated with other professions, even worse, many professionals have tagged it to their names, without serious or real training. As coaches, we are often asked what is it that we do? If an image is worth a thousand images, then an introductory free session will speak volumes. Ask me how and I will show you. Coaching history. Coaching has been around for about two decades and was defined when the lines between mentoring, advising, counseling, consulting, and therapy blurred. There was a clear need for Coaching that other professions were not answering. This isn’t to say other modalities don’t work. On the contrary, they not only work but are also necessary at times, either before, in the meantime, or even after a Coaching session. As we mentioned before, Coaching is not therapy, although we might skim the surface, acknowledge something, but always ask about going forward. Masterful Coaching. This is when a sessions hits home. This is when a masterful coach brings you to that point of clarity and all falls into place. Now we can talk about the “coaching” aspect that everyone is aware of. Signs of a good Coach or Masterful Coaching is that they work with your agenda, not their own. So coaching is the art of asking questions designed to raise awareness. A masterful coach brings you to a safe place where you can easily see within, ideas pop up, and goals are forged. Professional is about empowering you to reach your vision of success you want to achieve, your way. The final part of Coaching is the goal setting and accountability, which helps you create weekly achievable goals to move you toward your ideal vision of success. What coaching can do for you? Coaching has achieved tremendous success according to the who’s who of this world. Everyone has a Coach, even Tiger Woods who doesn’t need to be coached on the technicality of golf. What it has done for me was to help set my life long goals and ambitions forward in a safe way. I have always worked with people to help them tap their inner self, reach their deepest aspirations and custom tailor their personal method on how to get there, thus Tap The Source! As a business owner, coaching is especially useful in aligning your desires and aspirations with your professional goals. As much as coaching has transformed my life, I know it will change yours if you are ready and committed. Your Part of the Coaching Relationship. Ready, willing and committed. The Coaching relationship, as with any other serious professional relationships is your level of commitment. Let’s face it, you will not move until your level of discomfort is big enough to get you in action. A professional Coach is your best partner whose only goal is your success, regardless.
How does it work? Having a coach helps you move faster and with less effort through life. Tap The Source offers your unique way to live your life by design with a Certified professionally trained coach in a 100% confidentiality setting. We meet three to four times a month, either via phone, Internet with or without video, or even face to face. Group coaching works similarly and have proven to be a good way to get started. How to Choose you Coach. Choosing your coach is very personal and the key to your success. Beware of outrageous claims since ultimately, you will do the work. If possible, choose a professionally coach, and if you can, a certified one. Being professionally trained and certified means having been trained in using proven methods that measure your success. Since you pay for what you get, a professionally trained and Certified Coach makes sense. What to work on with a coach. You can work on anything you wish. Most people chose to work on achieving their personal vision of success. This involves asking questions technically designed to make you gain greater awareness around who you are, then brainstorm, and finally devise your custom tailored success strategy. A masterful coach will motivate you to excel and hold you up to it. Group coaching. If you’ve wanted to have a coach but the price held you back in the past you back, joining a small personalized group that focuses on a shared set goal where you have as much priority as the next person is the best way to get going. Topics can range from personal to business ones, usually with no more than 9 people. Groups are also conducted done via phone, internet with or without video, or in person. What
